About this Training Course
This course is taught in a five-day open enrollment format and is accredited through the State of Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training for FLUSAR personnel.
Certification: FLUSAR 40-Hour Confined Space Rescue Operations Level I
Prerequisite(s): Rope Rescue Operations Level 1 Certification from an accredited agency.
Class Day/Time: Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Course Description: Designed to train rescuers in all aspects of a confined space emergency, including rescue and recovery. This course meets OSHA standard 1910.146 and NFPA 1006 Chapters 5, 7.1, and 7.2.
Learning Objectives: Proficiency in assessing confined spaces, pre-entry operations, atmospheric testing, supplied air breathing systems, personal protective equipment, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and conducting/executing confined space rescues. Emphasis will be placed on lowering/raising techniques and safely reaching, assessing, packaging, and removing victims from confined spaces.
Dress Code: A helmet, boots, gloves, long pants, and a t-shirt are required for practical evaluations.
