Incipient Fire Training (Hands-On) Training @ Safety Solutions and Supply

Safety Solutions and Supply’s Incipient Fire Hands-On Training is a 4-hour class that adheres to the standards outlined in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.157 and other applicable OSHA standards. Safety Solutions and Supply is the premier training provider in Incipient Fire Training (Fire Extinguisher Training).

OSHA requires that any workers who may use a portable fire extinguisher receive training on an extinguisher. Course discussion will focus on fire prevention and early detection. All students will receive a hands-on demonstration and use a portable fire extinguisher in a controlled environment to extinguish an incipient stage live fire in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.157 and will include:

• The fire triangle and tetrahedron
• Hazardous products of combustion
• Classification of fires
• Demonstrate immediate actions needed upon encountering a fire
• Use the appropriate portable fire extinguisher to extinguish a live fire
• Extinguishing agents and their use

OSHA Fire Extinguisher – Incipient Fire Training?

If a company chooses to provide portable fire extinguishers and permit all employees to use them to fight fires; The company is required to comply with all the requirements in 29 CFR 1910.157 for the placement, use, maintenance, testing, training, and education in the use of the portable fire extinguishers.

These companies shall also provide an educational training program to familiarize employees with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stages of fire-fighting and training in appropriate equipment. The education and training shall be provided upon initial employment and annually thereafter.
