Safety Solutions and Supply is the premier Overhead Hoist training provider. This program is an 8-hour training program, inclusive of hands-on learning, practical evaluation, and a written assessment. This program is designed to satisfy the training requirements for operators of overhead hoists as defined under CFR 1910.179 and the Crane Manufacturer’s Association of America (CMAA). The program addresses proper operator inspection of cranes, load handling and management, and basic rigging methods and techniques.

OSHA Overhead Hoist Operator Requirements?
Per OSHA 1910.179, employers must use designated personnel to operate overhead cranes and hoists. “Designated” means selected or assigned by the employer or the employer’s representative as qualified to perform specific duties. Additionally, qualified riggers are required whenever workers are within the fall zone and hooking, unhooking, guiding a load, or making the initial connection to a component or structure.
