Objective

The Adult First Aid | CPR AED training program aims for participants to gain or improve knowledge and skill proficiency in First Aid, CPR, and AED skills.

Description

Attendees will learn how to recognize, assess, and prioritize first aid needs and provide appropriate care and life safety techniques for adult emergencies through video instruction, interactive group discussions, hands-on practice, and performance evaluations to ensure complete understanding and retention of the material.

Audience

This course is designed for individuals who are not healthcare providers or professional rescuers who desire or are occupationally required to be trained and certified in adult first aid and CPR AED. A minimum of 6-10 people per class is required to schedule this 4-hour training event.

Certification

All students will receive a nationally accredited ASHI CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid Certification available for download on the HSI website and access to other valuable resources, including a detailed student handbook. The certification is valid for two years from the month of issue. Additionally, attendees will receive a personalized training card from Safety Solutions & Supply, with access to the Training and Education Activity Manager (TEAM) database to assist in tracking training progress and recertification.

Adult CPR AED

  • Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) and rescue breathing
  • Using a CPR mask to provide breaths
  • AED basics and one-provider CPR AED
  • Suspected Opioid-Associated Emergency (OAE)
  • Responding to choking emergencies

Adult First Aid

  • First aid assessment and triage
  • Managing life-threatening external bleeding
  • Treating patients for shock and minor wounds
  • Addressing tooth injuries and nose bleeds
  • Responding to bodily injuries such as impalement, amputation, bleeding, head and spinal injuries, burns, poisoning, breathing difficulties, allergic reactions, heart attack, stroke, seizures, diabetes, fainting, heat stroke, hypothermia, and more

Performance Evaluations

  • Adult one-provider CPR AED skills assessment
  • Adult first aid skills assessment, including severe, life-threatening external bleeding and allergic reactions
