Safety Solutions and Supply offers a 24-hour training course to new miners to meet MSHA’s requirements under Title 30, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 48, Subpart B. Participants will receive an MSHA 5000-23 certificate that allows access to the Florida Phosphate Producers mine sites upon completion.

MSHA-certified instructors will give an overview of the mining process, including:

• Recent statistics
• Leading causes of accidents/fatalities
• Safety/hazards/risks
• Job safety analysis (JSA)
• Miner rights
• Legal responsibilities
• Safety equipment inspection
• Escape/rescue plans and considerations
• Traffic control guidelines
• Fall protection

MSHA New Miner Training Requirements?

A newly employed miner must complete new miner training within a specified period after starting work at a mine. If the miner is considered experienced, the miner must receive “experienced miner” training. After completing this initial “new miner” training, the miner is subject to all other training required for “experienced miners” at the mine.
